Partner Earns European Designation in Privacy

The CIPP/E is the global standard in privacy certification.

Thomas & LoCicero PL is pleased to announce that Susan Tillotson Bunch, a partner and attorney practicing full-time in its Tampa office, has earned the designation Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe, “CIPP/E,” from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

The CIPP is the global standard in privacy certification. Developed and launched by the IAPP with leading subject matter experts, the CIPP is the world’s first broad-based global privacy and data protection credentialing program. The CIPP/E is the first professional credential specific to European data protection professionals that is part of a comprehensive, principles-based framework and knowledge base in information privacy. The CIPP/E encompasses pan-European and national data protection laws, the European model for privacy enforcement, key privacy terminology and practical concepts concerning the protection of personal data and trans-border data flows.

Susan was the first Florida Bar member to earn the Privacy Law Specialist (“PLS”) certification from the American Bar Association and she also holds the following IAPP designations: Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States, “CIPP/US”, Certified Information Business Management, “CIBM”, and Certified Information Privacy Technologist, “CIPT.”

The CIPP, CIPM, and CIPT designations are the most coveted privacy certifications available for thousands of professionals around the world who serve the data protection, information auditing, information security, legal compliance, and risk management needs of their organizations. The IAPP’s certifications are accredited by the American National Standards Institute.

The PLS certification is offered by the American Bar Association, which has accredited IAPP to administer this new certification. PLS is not a certification by The Florida Bar.

The International Association of Privacy Professionals is the world’s largest association of privacy professionals with more than 25,000 members across 83 countries. The IAPP is a not-for-profit association that helps to define and support the privacy profession globally.
