TLo Supports the 2019 Florida Media Conference

The Florida Media Conference was held July 10-12 at The Vinoy in St. Petersburg. An early morning session on July 12, 2019, featured Susan Tillotson Bunch, attorney with Thomas & LoCicero. Along with fellow panelist Samuel Morley, General Counsel of the Florida Press Association, Susan presented “Medical Marijuana and CBD Advertising New Ad Opportunity or Risky Business? The discussion focused on the various advertising issues presented by the changing cannabis regulatory landscape ranging from legalized medical marijuana and cannabinoid substances to the deregulation of hemp-derived cannabidiol oils.  Also on the agenda was a session that features Linda R. Norbut, attorney with Thomas & LoCicero. As a panel member, she participated in the program It’s Gone Viral:  Rights and Risks of Grabbing from Social Media.  The discussion will focus on the perspective of what is legal and what is not when working with social media content.

The Florida Media Conference is produced by the Florida Press Foundation (FPF).  The goal of the conference is to provide relevant education to members of the media that serve within the state of Florida.  The FPF was founded in 1984 and its mission is to create and promote lifelong educational programs.  These programs begin in elementary school promoting literacy and encouraging the use of media, continue through college with internship programs, and then culminate in career training and development forums for industry professionals.

Susan Tillotson Bunch is a partner in the Tampa office of Thomas & LoCicero. Linda R. Norbut is an associate in the Tampa office of Thomas & LoCicero. Her practice concentration is in media and communications law, including defamation and invasion of privacy.  She also focuses on business litigation and intellectual property matters.  She graduated with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
